Well, we live in interesting times. Let’s take a look at how the Corona Virus is impacting Florida.
Theme Parks Are Closed – Disney World, Universal, Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and LEGOLAND are closed. This will be a huge blow to the Florida economy as we are approaching Spring Break season.
Spring Training Is Cancelled – This time of year usually means MLB Spring Training is in full swing, but not this year. Spring Training has been cancelled, which likely means Rays and Marlins will have later starts to their baseball seasons this year.
Schools Are Closed – All public schools have been shuttered for two weeks starting now. And depending on what things look like two weeks from now, there may be additional closure periods.
Stores Are Crazy – Going to the store right now makes a Floridian think a Cat 5 is on the way. But you should definitely get into the fray and stock up on some goods.
Floridians Are Helping Each Other – While I was at work the other day, my wife went to Costco with the kids to stock up. Two of my children decided to have tantrums when leaving the store. A kind man, seeing my wife with her hands full, helped her bring the groceries to the van and he loaded all of them into the trunk while she put the kids in the van. Floridians are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met.
