Below are the 26 best places to camp via RV and Tent in the Florida Keys. I included links to each respective campground listed. The list is completely unbiased. I have no financial arrangement with any of the campgrounds. My only motivation is to make sure you have the correct information, as I know how frustrating it can be to plan a trip to the Florida Keys.

Camping At The Florida Keys State Parks
This list is going to start with the state parks. They are my favorite because they are the most affordable and they are so beautiful. Nowhere else in the entire world can you find anything like it.
There are 10 State Parks in the Keys, only 4 have camping available though:
⛺️ Bahia Honda State Park is by far my #1 recommendation for camping in the Florida Keys. This is my favorite place I’ve ever camped at. And I’ve camped at a lot of places! The state park encompasses the entire island. Tent camping is spectacular. RV camping is amazing, many spots are right against the ocean. I even saw the rear end of some RVs hanging over the open ocean water! Beach, hiking, paddling, fishing, and close proximity to Key West. (RV/Tent/Cabin) The Official Website!!! ⛺️ Curry Hammock State Park is a small, gorgeous state park. We are talking postcard beach beauty here. Gotta see it to believe it. There are 28 campsites available. (RV/Tent) The Official Website!!! Curry Hammock State Park
⛺️ John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is another stunning Florida Key State Park with another stunning beach. The water is the star here–swimming, snorkeling, paddling, SCUBA diving, glass bottom boat tours. 42 campsites are available, plus a primitive group site. ⛺️ Long Key State Park is gorgeous too! (How about that?) Many of Netflix’s Bloodline beach scenes were filmed here. There are four tent only sites that seem to fluctuate between being online reservable / first-come, first-serve. At the time of this writing, it is first-come, first serve. So good luck! Camping At The Florida Keys National Parks
The National Parks in the Florida Keys are fun, gorgeous, breathtaking, etc. But can be challenging to get to and expensive to camp at. There are two:
⛺️ Dry Tortugas National Park is about 70 miles west of Key West and you have two options to get there: seaplane (not for camping because weight limits) or watercraft. The campgrounds are currently closed from Hurricane Ian damage. Reopening date unknown. But there is a silver lining! Now you have time to save up for the $220 per person ferry ticket, which is the only way to get camping gear to the island without a private boat. ⛺️ Biscayne National Park – Boca Chita Key and Elliott Key are the only Keys that offer camping in Biscayne National Park and you need a boat to get there. You can visit the visitor center by car, but 95% of the park is covered by water, so you won’t see much! Boca Chita Key is the park’s most popular Key. Camping At The Florida Keys Private Campgrounds And RV Parks
The private campgrounds can be a tad easier to get into, but they are going to be much more expensive than the state parks. However, you can typically stay at private campgrounds for longer periods of time if you want to be able to chill in your RV for a few months in the Keys. And now, in alphabetical order:
⛺️ Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge (AKA Big Pine Key Resort) is right on the water and offers more than fishing (but is very good for that). They provide an option to specifically book ocean front sites. ⛺️ Boyd’s Key West Campground is a campground in Key West itself, which is cool. Once you get there you don’t even need your car as you can pretty much do all of Key West via bike. ⛺️ Bluewater Key bills itself as a luxury RV resort, and honestly, it does look really nice. However, pricey. You can own your very own lot on the ocean for about $1.5 million, if you’re interested. (RV) The Official Website!!! Bluewater Key
⛺️ El Mar RV Resort is a little known campground in Key West that hosts 11 RV sites–6 waterfront and 5 interior. No bathroom, shower, or laundry facilities. Cozy. (RV). The Official Website!!! El Mar RV Resort
⛺️ Fiesta Key RV Resort (AKA Encore Fiesta Key) is located on Long Key, which is a nice place to be. All typical RV resort amenities are offered here, including a pool. Waterfront sites available. (RV/Cabin). The Official Website!!! Fiesta Key RV Resort
⛺️ Florida Sea Base Adventure In The Florida Keys is a boy scout campground that teaches young scouts water skills and more. When not in use for camps, Sea Base is open to anybody outside of scouts as long as you are camping with at least 1 person under 18, if only camping with adults, all adults must be part of scouts. ⛺️ Geiger Key Marina and Campground is an RV campground located in Key West, albeit on the outskirts. There are 36 sites, about half are on the ocean. There is also a restaurant on the property. (RV). The Official Website!!! Geiger Key Marina and Campground
⛺️ Grassy Key RV Park & Resort is located in Marathon, which is in the Middle Keys. This RV was renovated to fit in big rig RVs, along with other size RVs. Ocean front lots are available along with boat slips. Pool, too. (RV) The Official Website!!! Grassy Key RV Park & Resort
⛺️ Jolly Roger Travel Park is located in Marathon and boasts 11 acres with 160 RV sites right on the ocean. Heated swimming pool and other amenities. Efficiency apartments also available.
