The Marlins now play in a new swanky stadium in Miami, but when I saw them it was at Dolphin Stadium, an American football stadium converted to also host baseball games. While I did get to check the Marlins off my list of MLB teams that I have seen, I couldn’t believe how few fans were in attendance. There couldn’t have been more than 2,000 fans there. Overall, I still had fun during my visit, but events that have occurred since then have made me absolutely dumbfounded.
I won’t go into it here because I want my blog to be a positive place that looks at the happy side of life, but if you want to hear about the Miami Marlins putting South Florida taxpayers 2 billion dollars in debt while running away with a billion dollar profit and also suing fans for lots of money, including suing a fan for 92k because the fan didn’t want buy another year of season tickets and then suing the same fan again to obtain his commercial property worth over 700k (to settle the debt, the Marlins say), well, then you can google it and read all about the insanity.
But in the meantime, it will make for a fun daytrip if you go to a game and I’d say it’s unlikely the Marlins will try to sue you while you’re there.
